On Monday, June 22, in Nyon (Switzerland) the draw of the UEFA Champions league qualifying rounds took place. "Ventspils" who will prticipate in the Champions league already for the third year in a row, this time will play against team "Dudelange" (Luxemburg). The first match will be played in Ventspils on July 14-15 (the date and time of the match will be precisely known later). The second match will take place on July 21-22. Recently FC "Ventspils" played several matches in the Latvian championship. The first match was played on June 11 against team "Jurmala" in Ventspils that ended by the confident victory of the home team - 3:0. On June 14, "Ventspils" played away against team "Dinaburg" in Daugavpils and despite the dominance during the whole match, the yellow-and-blue conceded an unexpected goal and suffered a loss by 1:0. On June 18, "Ventspils" played home against team "Skonto" and manged to get a victory in a very intense match by 2:1. On June 22, the real derby between two arch-rivals took place in Liepaja. "Ventspils" played away versus "Metalurg". The super intense match unfortunately ended by the defeat of the yellow-and-blue by 2:1. This was the last match of team "Ventspils" in the 2nd stage of the Latvian championship.

Recently FC "Ventspils" played two matches in the Latvian championship. The first match was played on April 28, when the yellow-and-blue played away against team "Blazma" from Rezekne. The match ended by the victory of the yellow-and-blue - 0:3! Another match was played at home versus the local team FC "Tranzits", and this was also victorious for the Latvian champions - 3:0! 

Recently, team "Ventspils" started the 2nd stage of the Latvian championship and has already played 2 matches. The first match was played on May 10 at home versus team "Daugava" from Riga. The yellow and blue celebrated a confident victory by 4:2. The goals were scored by midfielder Igor Tigirlas, forward Vits Rimkus, midfielder Grigory Chirkin and midfielder Aleksander Mysikov. Three assists were mde by Yury Zhigayev.

Recently team "Ventspils" played the last two matches of the Latvian championhsip 1st stage. On April 24, "Ventspils" managed to beat team "Skonto" in Riga by 3:1. However, on April 30, "Ventspils" played home against team "Metalurg" from Liepaja. This was a great derby! On 93rd minute "Ventspils" was losing 0:1, but in the last seconds of the match team captain Yevgeny Kosmachov managed to score an equalizer - 1:1!
